Mission Statement

The Multi-Cultural Independent Living Center of Boston, Inc. (MILCB) is a 501(c) (3) non-profit community-based, consumer-controlled organization.

MILCB seeks to create opportunities for people with disabilities and their families in unserved/under-served populations and cultures who reside in Boston’s inner city, to achieve self-determination at their maximum level of independent functioning within their family and community environment.

We will achieve our mission by providing comprehensive services to enhance the range of options available to improve the quality of life for consumers through provision of our four core services: advocacy, information and referral, peer support and skills training.

Independent Living Philosophy

People with disabilities should have the same civil rights, options, and control over choices in their own lives as do people without disabilities.
